Community Assess and Support Day Delivers Vital Care and Connection

Community Assess and Support Day Delivers Vital Care and Connection in Tadworth
The latest Community Assess and Support Day (CASD) held at Tadworth Leisure Centre has once again proven the power of collaboration in delivering meaningful, accessible healthcare to local residents. With over 200 appointments provided across musculoskeletal (MSK), podiatry, and diabetes services, the event offered a full day of personalised care and holistic assessments - all under one roof.
Organised by Surrey Downs Health and Care, CASD is designed to bring clinical expertise and community support directly to the people who need it most. The Tadworth event saw residents benefit from tailored health checks, expert advice, and practical support aimed at improving wellbeing and promoting independence.
But CASD is about more than just clinical care. The day featured contributions from eight community partners, each offering a unique perspective and service to support residents in their health journey. These included:
- Catalyst Support
- Surrey Police Community Support
- Surrey County Council Work Well
- SDHC’s Diabetes and Dietetics Teams
- Age Concern
- GetUBetter App
- Slimming World
- Better Leisure
Together, these partners provided everything from mental health and lifestyle advice to signposting for local services, employment support, and digital health tools. The collaborative approach not only strengthened local connections but also empowered attendees to take charge of their health in a more informed and confident way.
“These events are a brilliant example of what happens when clinical care and community support come together,” said a spokesperson from SDHC. “We’re seeing real impact - not just in the number of appointments delivered, but in the conversations, connections, and confidence that people walk away with.”
The success of the Tadworth CASD, the fourth event of this kind, is a testament to the enthusiasm and dedication of everyone involved - from healthcare professionals and volunteers to community partners and attendees. The energy and engagement throughout the day created a welcoming, supportive environment where residents felt heard, cared for, and empowered.
SDHC is already looking ahead to the next CASD, with plans to continue expanding the reach and impact of these vital events.
“Thank you to everyone who attended and supported the day - your involvement is what makes these events so special. We can’t wait to do it again.”
